                         t{\'e}cnicas de controle n{\~a}o linear geom{\'e}trico e os 
                         par{\^a}metros s{\~a}o estimados usando um m{\'e}todo 
                         adaptativo. As condi{\c{c}}{\~o}es para ocorrencia da 
                         sincroniza{\c{c}}{\~a}o s{\~a}o estudadas e a viabilidade do 
                         m{\'e}todo {\'e} avaliada usando exemplos de 
                         simula{\c{c}}{\~a}o com os sistemas ca{\'o}ticos de Lorenz e 
                         R{\"o}ssler. ABSTRACT: This work proposes a parameter estimation 
                         method for nonlinear dynamical systems based on nonlinear control 
                         techniques and synchronization. The central idea of the method is 
                         to synchronize the model with the system, and, in parallel, to 
                         estimate the systems parameters. Synchronization is achieved by 
                         the use of nonlinear geometric control techniques, and the 
                         parameters are estimated using an adaptive method. The conditions 
                         for synchronization are studied, and the methods feasibility is 
                         evaluated using simulation examples with the Lorenz and Ršossler 
                         chaotic systems.",
